Gail’s recruitment career kicked off in Newcastle and reached the pinnacle of the industry in London when she received the ‘Top Marks Award’ from Alfred Marks Bureau, the largest recruitment firm in the world at the time. She received this award for the company’s most successful Manager in the UK and gained enormous experience in all areas of contract management, permanent, temporary and executive recruitment.
After heading back to Australia, Gail managed the Alfred Marks Wynyard Office in Sydney for 2 years before returning to Newcastle, setting up in partnership Richardson Whipper Recruitment and continued to build a strong reputation in the industry.
Eleven years ago Gail set up Whipper Recruitment because she wanted to follow her heart and create a company that gave clients and candidates a truly personal experience. Gail’s personality is natural and a little quirky but her care and dedication to delivering a great service to all is what has led to great success in the industry. Her mantra: “No-one is to leave our office feeling bad” is genuine and lived.

ANGELA CLIPPERTONOPERATIONS MANAGER
Ange commenced her career in Real Estate working with Robert Dalton Real Estate before moving to Perth WA in 1987 where she began her journey in Recruitment working for an international recruitment firm.
After 12 years of Perth life, two daughters and succession through to Sales Manager, her natural love of Newcastle and family bought her back to her home town where she joined Richardson Whipper in 1999 here at The Junction.
When Gail decided to open Whipper Recruitment in 2005 it was only natural for Ange to join her as they hold the same values and interest in looking after clients and candidates with a genuine passion.

KATE GROBRECRUITMENT CONSULTANT/HR ADVISOR
Born and educated in the Newcastle area, Kate had a background in banking as well as small business administration and management before moving into the Recruitment Industry. This background has provided her with a strong commercial acumen and a sound understanding of the challenges facing small business.
Kate has spent the last 22 years in recruitment working as a consultant for National and International companies in the local recruitment market. During this time she gained a wealth of experience recruiting in both the white and blue-collar sectors with a primary focus on professional and administrative positions across various industries.
She has a Diploma in Management, is an active committee member with the Newcastle Business Club and also holds a voluntary board position in the Not -For Profit sector.
JAMES WHIPPERRECRUITMENT ASSOCIATE
James has recently completed a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in International Business and Marketing. This included participation in an International Exchange Program at the University of South Carolina as part of his studies.
James has recently joined the Whipper team as a Recruitment Associate since completing his degree. He adds value to the business with his highly developed analytical skills and a natural ability to build relationships with people combined with fresh ideas and enthusiasm for the industry.
CONNIE ASVESTASRECRUITMENT CONSULTANT
Connie joined the Whipper team in November 2016 as Recruitment Support Officer shortly progressing to a Recruitment Consultant.
Connie has been studying a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Finance and Economics while simultaneously gaining industry experience in an administrative capacity.
Connie’s career has been steered into recruitment industry combining her natural warmth and genuine desire to help people, with her experience in client services to provide exceptional assistance and guidance to both clients and candidates
ANGELA JOHNS (AJ)TEAM COORDINATOR
Angela has over 10 years’ experience in customer service, sales support and administration resulting in the development of a diverse skill set and technological ability.
She holds a pivotal role in the Whipper team and her exceptional organisational skills ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of our consultants.
Just because we have been in recruiting for many years, doesn’t mean we always know automatically what is best for you. We will make sure we listen and hear what is important to you and treat your views and needs as our priority.
We don’t just ask what jobs you have vacant, we invest time upfront to learn about your business culture and challenges.
You tell us how you like the recruitment process to run, your previous experience with recruiters and what you expect from us in terms of service and outcomes (amongst other things). We are as thorough as you want us to be – we like to leave nothing to chance.
Once we have a detailed grasp of your requirements and an agreed schedule and method of communication, we let you get back to doing what you do best, and we get on with recruitment process.
